Intriguing Sociological DynamicsBy CustomerWhile North of the Grove was published in 2014, it is still a new book for me because this is my first time reading it. To be sure, this is a story told that does not get age. It is a novel that has been added to the wide body of knowledge by Dr. William Hobbs. It is a delightful and must read work with many intriguing sociological dynamics. The setting is in the blighted community of Coconut Grove. Coconut Grove is adjacent to a posh society, and has its infrastructure that is only important to those who live there. This should be enough to tell the reader what is actually about to happen. The book that is very emotional and convincing, and centers the existing mentor-mentee relationship between the principle character, Howard and David. Young David is in a similar place in life as was Howard during his youth. This makes their relationship an excellent match. However, This fictional composition, of good substance, is not just about Howard and David. It is about Black male bonding, positive leadership, and remarkable symbolism.North Grove should be added to the collection of public, schools, and academic libraries not only in the Sunshine State, but also on reading shelves throughout the nation. But do not take my word for it. Read it for yourself, and you will definitely understand why this ingenious story had to get out of the head of the author and placed into these two hundred and forty-six pages, for further exploration.
