A must own children's bookBy Jennifer W Davis**Contains Spoilers due to fact I can not brag about a children's book without them.**I was given a copy by the author for my honest review.Bob's New Pants is written for children ages 3-7. Bob the Ladybug lives in a town called Floraville with his mother, father, and sister. Bob is different from other ladybugs due to the white spot on his back. Bob wears dresses, like all the other ladybugs, but secretly desires to wear pants. He confesses to his mother his urge. His mother wants him to fit in with the other ladybugs, but she loves her son and wants him to be happy so agrees to him wearing pants. Bob wakes up the next day to the perfect pair of pants that his mother made for him. He is so excited and goes to show them off to his best friend Shea. Shea thinks they look great. They decide to go to the playground and Bob notices that other ladybugs, boys and girls, are wearing pants as well. Bob has a run in with Ben, the bullybug, who makes fun of Bob and his new pants. Bob, with his new friends by his side, stand up to Ben and sends him on his way.I read the book to my 5 year old son, and he loved it. He insisted that I read it to him 3 more times. The book sends great messages to children that is okay to be different and to stand up for what you believe in, everyone deserves to be happy. The book is beautifully illustrated. I highly recommend parents to to purchase and read this book to their children. We must teach them it is okay to be different and that bullying is wrong. I am sure that we will be reading about Bob and his new pants many more times and hope to read more adventures about Bob The Ladybug.
