Truly applicable and deeply effective...By cattyTDr. Driscoll's pairing of audio cd and book make the process of entering into meditation and shielding surprisingly easy even though its content is rich and deep. The cd is not too long, so it was easy to incorporate into my very busy day. Dr. Driscoll's voice calmly leads you step by step into meditation without ANY chance to fail (I think!). After listening to the audio cd I felt refreshed and relaxed, and I wondered to myself, "why I don't give myself this kind of time for healthy rejuvenation more often?". Building my shield the first time I listened to the cd was exciting (you'll see when you listen) and meaningful. During the first listen I had already started "shielding" my main stressors and looking at them in a new way that made me feel lighter. The very next day after going through the shielding exercise for the first time, I knew the time spent in meditation and building my shield had deeply affected even my subconscious mind. I had had a dream the night before where I found myself in a stressful/hurtful situation and immediately used my personal shield I had made! I felt personally effective, good and safe in my dream's stressful situation. I have listened to the audio cd more than once now, and my eyes are opening to enumerous possibilities and circumstances when I can and have used my shield. I have tried meditation, yoga, exercise, hypnosis, therapy, alcohol, and much more, which has helped some, but not enough to keep me from screaming and running naked down the street! My present therapist recommended Doctor Driscoll's "Personal Shielding" book and training CD. I was skeptical at first, because I had tried so many other things in the past with so little benefit. After reading the book and listening to the CD, I am now able to control my anxiety and panic attacks, even if I am not in a place where I can not listen to the CD. You do the exercises and learn the principles. Then you can use them, no matter where you are, whether in a meeting at work, in the mall, or in a car full of screaming kids. Thank you Dr Driscoll.
