About the AuthorJewel Sample has a Master of Science degree in Family Relations and Child Development from Oklahoma State University. She and her husband, Chuck, are the parents of three sons and the grandparents of thirteen children. Sample has written her first children's book titled, Flying Hugs and Kisses. and this activity book, which is a companion to the storybook. Flying Hugs and Kisses is about five children who creatively take on roles of support toward each other while showing their individual feelings about the death of their baby brother. Flying Hugs and Kisses Activity Book provides encouraging activities to help children discover new things about themselves and to provide them with a supportive way to talk with an adult about the loss their family has experienced. In her spare time, Jewel Sample loves to go antiquing for old dolls and toys. Most of all, she enjoys the play dates with her grandchildren, who encourage her to tell them a new story before each play date ends.
