It's not Shakespeare, but it's cute.If you are all about abolishing gender roles and that sort of thing, you probably won't like it because it has a lot of things like "A daughter needs a mother to teach her how to do (random super girlie thing here)". If you hate that sort of stuff, don't get this book. (I'm not judging or saying that's wrong. Believe me I understand and I don't like the kid's books that come in boys versions with trucks and girls versions with ponies either. I'm just telling you what's in this book. That said, even with me having that opinion about books I thought this one was sweet.)If you or the mom you are getting this for enjoys "being girls" with her daughter then this is deffinately a good book for you. There is more to it than that stuff too. It does have some deeper "A daughter needs a mom to teach her how to be confident in herself" kind of stuff too.Ultimately it's a good mix of meaningful reasons why a daughter needs a mom as well as some more superficial ones that are just cute.I don't imagine my wife will be reading this until the spine wears out, but she is going to enjoy it once. For the price, that makes it a good mother's day type gift.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great for a mom of any age!By Chelsea MarieThis is the perfect gift for a mom at any age!!
