MichelThis book provides instruction and ideas for anyone who works with others, either in management or as an employee who wants to get ahead and be a better team member or supervisor. Anyone who wants his/her workplace to be more efficient and "people-friendly" should read it and pass it around the office! It addresses many frequent "office dynamics" issues and provides practical, creative, and empathetic solutions. It even deals with bullying, which is becoming more common in schools and workplaces, so teachers (as well as administrators) can gain important suggestions to deal with this issue.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. working circle is a winnerBy voirdireMost who face conflict at work like to either run and hide or over-react. Katz' work offers a very useful way to turn conflict into success. By using the 8 steps of the working circle, leaders can turn inevitable conflict into improved decisions. A leader who learns these 8 steps will help bring out the best in his or her team. An employee who masters and uses these 8 steps will have far more personal and professional success. The ideas are useful and pragmatic. They are also so necessary in today's work where a lack of civility too often exists.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Finally a TRUE Win Win Approach to Conflict in the Work Place.By Rev ShoshanaIf we are honest we know that every work place has problems. Conflicts arise and people don't get along. This has a negative effect on all aspects of the business and the work place. Nothing I have read before has given me a concrete usable, effective plan for resolution of these problems. Enter Diane Katz's book"Win at Work." Win at Work delivers what it promises. It is the best approach to conflict resolution I have ever come across. It is actually the only sound approach I have ever come across. It presents an extraordinary insightful approach that leads to a Win-Win. I have already tried it and the results are nothing short of miraculous. Resolving conflict does not have to be confrontational any more. By stepping out of the situation I was able to drop the energy and confusion and move on to problem solving that lead to a better working relationship instead of resentment. It is a very enjoyable and interesting read as well. Anyone who works in an office or runs a business of any size will be very happy they read this book.
