"Compelling...an awful sort of love story, a grim protrait of domestic abuse. It is emotionally articulate and raw" -- Chrissey Isley * The Guardian * "Searing honesty, down-to-earth description and the authentic voice of a woman who has suffered and survived" * The Irish Times * "An extremely harrowing account" * You Magazine * "[Dinah's] catalogue of abuse is spine-chilling" * , Irish Independent * "[A] courageous memoir" * Irish Mail on Sunday *About the AuthorDinah O'Dowd was born and raised in Dublin. Greatest Book You Will Ever Read!!By RENEE BERGMANNLove, love this book, I know Kevin O'dowd and his GF, reading this makes me sad on how they and his mom had to go through this. She wrote a great book on how she show strength and courage, and raised fine children, esp. Boy George, he spoils his mum and his siblings so much, I actually got a free t-shirt that he designed to raise money for cancer, I survived it 3 times, and his brother Kevin sent it to me to the US from the UK as a gift. They are the sweetest family ever, this book is worth reading, I give it 1000 Stars!!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Hidden strength runs deepBy Donna LemanskiI so thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It wasn't another sob story written by a public figure. I was so completely drawn into her emotions, thoughts and fears. Yes, it's a story about abuse but it's also a story about love and strength. Her children were very lucky to have her as their mom and role model. I highly recommend this book!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Great ReadBy lpI grew up with Culture Club and Boy George!! Couldn't get enough of the Boy!! When I found out that Georges Mother wrote her book on her marriage to Georges dad I had to get it.I felt at times that I wanted to cry. She went through so much abuse. The book really captured me and made me relize what a remarkable woman she is. Its a book that I couldn't put down. If you purchase this book I know you will feel for Georges mother. Its a great read.
