I tried using an app, and I was honestly too tired to remember to enter the times. I tried a regular day planner and there wasn't the right kind of formatting. This was perfect as it has a page for each day, with rows for the hours. There are columns for feeding (duration vs bottle), diaper changes, sleep, and notes. It was cute, easy to use, and helped my mental exhaustion. At first, I used it just so I remembered when to feed, when she pooped last, how long she fed, etc. Later, it was great for monitoring trends, like napping, bedtime, wake time, or meal times. We pretty much approached parenting from a child-demanded timeline, so this log book was great at recording when the baby needed something. Overall, it made it much easier to settle into a parent-led routine now, at 5 months old, because we try to base naps and feedings off of her natural spacing we noticed when recording her actions. My husband and I are taking shifts so we are able to look at the book to see how long it was since the last feeding without waking the other up to ask. Also we can leave messages in the note section to each other. I love that it is simple and you can fit 1 day on each page. There are plenty of pages as well (the number of pages is in the product description). We can't wait to meet baby!
