I had been feeling alone and isolated, after being home with my child, and wishing and wondering how I could reenter the workforce. The statistics cited in the book show that us mothers a huge part of the potential workforce that is ignored. This book is warm and funny and fun to read, so I felt like the author was a friend and champion, not just a 'how to' robot. It may take some time to get back to work for myself, but there are lots of interesting anecdotes to refer to along the way. I coach women wanting to reinvigorate their lives and I walk them through the exploration process of finding and actualizing their "Encore Careers" so I know the terrain. This book is the perfect companion...but also strong enough as a stand-alone reference source and guide for anyone not wishing to utilize a coach. It is filled with useful, current advice, loaded with wisdom and easy to follow step-by-step guides that prompt the reader to take each new step forward. It's written in a way that breaks the process down into comfortable actionable goals, making an otherwise (often) overwhelming endeavor totally sustainable and achievable. As a coach I will definitely recommend it! It makes my job easier since it is written with such clarity and organization and since it's perfectly aligned with the support and messaging that I'm giving as well-- so it will serve as an excellent foundational at-home component. Good, but too late to help me.By FrederickMy ex wife bought this book and now she won't stop talking about it. Why couldn't she get the book when we were still together? This reminds me of how Steve Jobs came back to Apple and revived the company AFTER I had sold my Apple stock. This book will probably change a lot of lives, but it's too late for me.
