As you keep reading, you will notice that the book is obviously self-published as it is riddled with errors and typos and repeating patterns that a good publisher or editor would catch. Also, the author repeatedly describes making statements to clients that cause shock and many don't return. He seems to get a kick out of making these statements. After being amused a few times, I started to see a pattern of shocking statements and non-returning clients. I'm glad he's not my therapist. If you are the exact type of Christian that the author is, you might enjoy the second half of the book. If you are not, well, stop reading at chapter 6 or so.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A good read for a normal marriageBy Elizabeth DeWandelerThe book "The Upside Down Marriage" by Jim Keller is a refreshing perspective on several of the main issues that come up in a marriage. Jim writes in a conversational tone that is likeable and easy to relate to as he shares many anecdotes from his own life and his many years of counseling couples. The "upside-down" titles are clever and a little tongue-in-cheek, and they lead you to see each common marriage struggle in a new light.I liked the way the book was written, but found that the topics needed a little more "fleshing out". Each chapter only scratches the surface of how to address each struggle, but maybe that is the author's intent. If a couple is in need of more help than what is provided here, maybe they will need to actually sit down with a counselor to work through their issues. But, this book is a thought-provoking read for any married couple, and it encourages the reader to take a look at their own marriage in a new light. My only other constructive criticism of this book is that it contains many editing and continuity errors, as well as some formatting errors for the Kindle edition. The errors were a bit distracting, even though the content was very good.Overall, I would recommend this book to any couple who desires to examine their relationship for areas of weakness, and they will find some useful things to work on independently. For those who are in a potential marriage crisis, you'd be better off calling Jim for an appointment.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
