After the initial high, the stress of renewed and often impaired relationships can be a breaking point for the person who lacks the inner resources to make the transition. For alcohol and drug addicts the path may lead back to substance abuse. Professionals working in the field of reentry will want to get this practical workbook right away to learn these easy-to-follow techniques for planning Circles of restoration for people who are returning to a society and who carry much psychological baggage. The principles presented here are solution-focused and strengths-based to help elicit positive change responses by the participants. The Circles are geared to promote a "growth mindset". Ms. Walker and Ms. Greening give us hope, as a community, about the possibility of life after incarceration. Too much emphasis is placed on the immediate solution, prison, but not much thought is given to long term solutions. The idea of a circle, and community involvement, sets the stage for a more successful transition, back into mainstream society. Well written and easy to follow.
