I purchased it after reading many reviews that described the material as very "neutral" in regards to pain management options. I did not find this to be the case. Nearly every mention of epidurals or IV pain medications was negative. I understand that any medical intervention comes with its set of risks, but I was hoping for a more unbiased presentation of the options pain management during delivery.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Easy to read, Enjoyable, and Informative Without all the BiasBy TheKlundI found this book to be easy to read, enjoyable to read, and informative. It is, by far, the lease judgmental or biased birth book I have come across so far, which was very important to me. I wanted to be educated on various options available and not bombarded with biases and opinions. This book did that for me. I highly recommend it for any pregnant woman or significant other to a pregnant woman (my husband read and liked it, too).2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. This book is the best I read so farBy YanaI bought 4 different books on birth and preparation for birth. This book is the best I read so far. Thank you so much for such useful advice Erica. Very practical, it answered all my questions. Definitely a great book for moms who hope to give birth naturally. Although, it does go over every possible option, and explains the role of modern technology and medications. I totally agree with the author on many things addressed in the book. You must have thins book. Do not spend your money and time on any other book! All the answers you need are there. Easy to read, written in a very comprehensible language. If you like practical advice, critical thinking, pro-natural birth, straight to the point style of writing based on the personal experience (the author is a practicing nurse and doula) this book is for you. Enjoy!
