Excellent Professional Development BookBy Rachael ClickI heard Doc Robyn speak at the National Fastpitch Coaches Convention this winter and purchased the book after her presentation. I coach softball at a college for women in MN (College of Saint Benedict). After presenting information I obtained from the conferenced to my staff, we decided as an athletic department to purchase multiple copies of the book "Stop the Drama - The Ultimate Guide to Female Teams." We started a monthly book group to discuss issues presented in the book. The group consisted of collegiate coaches, administrators, professors and an athletic director. The book was a great guide for conversation and the I felt everyone in the group gained a lot from the discussions. I would highly recommend the book to other high school, club and college coaches. Doc Robyn was very supportive and helpful in organizing the book group for our staff. Although initially geared to young female teams, her concepts, ideas and approaches can be adapted to any type of group activity, sports or otherwise, as well as to any age group or gender. Her approaches are easy to understand, and the tools she provides, such as her "Nine Secrets to Great Teamwork" and her "Seven No-Fail Secrets to Stop The Drama provide a thorough process to help eliminate the drama on any team, group, or even family. The examples she provides come from her own life an personal experience - no hypothetical situations here. Her approaches are easy to understand and make such perfect sense, that you will find yourself thinking, DUH! I have adapted her approaches for use in my Acapella group, as there is always drama when you have a group of performers working together. Doc Robyn knocks it out of the park with this one! Afterall, a family is a team and should function as one.I also thought back to my family when I was growing up and wished we had had this book available. It would have created such a strong and supportive team that my siblings and I would have been able to pursue our dreams, instead of constantly being knocked about by the drama between our parents.If you are a parent, please read this book and use it to create a strong and supportive family.Stop The Drama!
